Gordon brings 22 years of experience dealing with regulated and non-regulated waste streams that require treatment and or destruction prior to final disposal.
He was employed for 14 years with Chem-Security (Alberta) Ltd. and with Bovar Waste Management. Both companies were past operators of the Swan Hills Treatment Centre. After starting his consulting business in 2000, Gordon was asked to participate on the Waste Management Stakeholder Group which provided feedback on new and existing Waste regulations in Alberta.
In 2001 he was contracted by Sensor Environmental Services, the interim operator of the Swan Hills Treatment Centre, to provide the Marketing and Sales assistance for the Centre. In 2003, he was asked to continue in this position when Earth Tech / Aecom took over as operator.
Gordon is familiar with the Provincial and Federal regulatory framework for hazardous waste including PCB’s and the various treatment and destruction alternatives that are available.

Dr. Smith received his Ph.D. degree in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Waterloo in 1977 and immediately went to work for two years in the Pesticides Subcommittee of the Environmental Secretariat at the National Research Council in Ottawa.
After NRC, he spent five years in the Chemical Industry as a Pesticide Research and Regulatory officer with Elanco, the agricultural chemical division of Eli Lilly and later with Velsicol Chemical Corp. of Chicago.
Subsequently, he worked at the University of Toronto's "Institute for Environmental Studies" for a year working on a World Health Organization project on classification and disposal technologies for hazardous wastes, in particular, chemical pesticides.
Following a two and half year employment term with PPM Canada as Director of Sales and Marketing, he started PCB Disposal, a full-service PCB management company in 1987. He continued as President of the company until September 4, 2009, at which time he sold the business to Sanexen Environmental Services Inc., and he continues in the capacity of Vice President, Business Development to this day.
